Adobe Lightroom as a black and white negative proofer

I’m a little behind times and I’m sure people have been doing this for as long as digital has been available, but as they say, better late than never. Throughout the years of processing black and white film negatives the best way for me to make a proof sheet was in the darkroom with a photo enlarger, photo paper and a piece of glass to place over the negatives. However, the past few years I’ve been placing the negative sheets onto my flatbed scanner and scanning it onto my computer to check out the photos.
